Above, doves hatched on my balcony and, just a few weeks old, were practicing short flights when it started raining hard. They couldn't quite manage getting back to the nest in the rain, so just sat on the rail looking miserable.

Below, the walkway over the FDR highway on the East River is formidable, with the tall chain link, but you can see the trees blossiming behind the fence.

This is a "screen shot" of the Grand Street News article. The Lower East Side magazine, which was published in both a print and online edition, ceased in 2011, and the publishers, Yori Yanover and Nancy Kramer, moved to Israel. I'm still taking picturess all over New York City.
